“We are really excited that our students have this opportunity to partner with the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce to represent our school as well as our community,” said Sylvan Hills Junior High Principal Yvone West. “This experience will have a huge impact on their development as young citizens and will be beneficial for their development as they matriculate throughout high school, college, and in life.”
The Sherwood Junior Ambassador program provides students with hands-on learning opportunities in leadership for students who have an interest in community leadership. The seven-month program includes sessions on state and local government, industry tours, and the military. The students also participate in a community service project.
The sessions end in April with a graduation ceremony.
