Friday evening, Sherwood PD contacted Sylvan Hills Junior High principal and security about a situation that involved a student making threats against others at school. Sherwood PD arrested the student at their residence. The student was questioned and released to parental custody by juvenile detention late Friday evening. The student will not return to school. This is a discipline matter involving a minor and no further information will be released at this time.

Students in 8th grade art classes were given a quarter of a peace sign and asked to think about the theme “What does PEACE mean to me?” They then created a design that filled the inside of their quarter of the peace sign. Using a contrasting design in the remaining part of the square they finished their section. Finally, their designs were joined together with other student’s sections to construct the finished artwork you see here.
